A Look Inside Highview Kitchener

This virtual tour offers a look inside our homes in London and Kitchener, Ontario, where people living with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, live within small, supportive communities that feel like home.

A Peaceful, Home-Like Setting

Highview Kitchener-Waterloo is comprised of two Houses: Blair Creek House and Cedar Creek House. Edwards Cottage and Treffry Cottage are within Blair Creek House. Bowlby Cottage and Cooper Cottage are within Cedar Creek House.

Each cottage is home to 13–14 residents and includes both private and shared living spaces. The intimate scale means residents are truly known, their history, preferences, and daily rhythms, by the Associates who care for them.

Your Day, Your Rhythm

A Familiar Flow of Care

At Highview Kitchener-Waterloo, our philosophy of care is resident-focused. The rhythm of the day, activities, meals, and personal care, is guided by the resident rather than an imposed schedule. Residents wake, dine, and move through their day in ways that feel natural to them.

"We help families support their loved ones in making the transition from their current home to Highview, where they come to feel comfortable and settled, where we make things just a little easier. Our approach is to gently guide residents through their day with love, encouraging independence wherever possible and providing support whenever needed." - Joy Birch, President, Highview
